Taxes for Artists

We had a representative from Brass Taxes come and talk to us today. It was terrifying , but enlightening. We talked about how freelancers have to be careful to set aside taxes from their income, and how art supplies can be written off as business expenses.

I hadn’t even really thought about what being an artist would mean for taxes. I learned a whole lot, although some of it still confuses me. I'm still not sure how to make an LLC. The fact that Brass Taxes specializes in taxes for artists really fascinated me. Definitely a company I will have to remember.
